Vietnam is a country located in South East Asia. Soil and climate of Vietnam are very suitable for the development of cashew.

According to statistics of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, by the end of 2017, cashew growing area is 337,143ha, increase of 4,410ha over the previous year.

In terms of productivity, in 2008-2013, cashew yield of Vietnam was always low, reaching under 1 ton/ha.

Regarding to production, Vietnam has more than 465 cashew processing enterprises, with a capacity of over 1.4 million tons/year. However, the number of small factories still high for nearly 70%.

In terms of cashew nut consumption, Vietnam has exported to over 90 markets and territories and is one of the high export value exporters.

In 2017, Vietnam cashew exports reached 3.6 billion USD. The establishment of a cashew processing industry contributes to the creation of jobs in the fields of cultivation and production for nearly one million people.
